LDH: EBR Parish approaching 700 total COVID-19 deaths

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – There has been an increase of 23 deaths in the state over the last 24 hours.

The Louisiana Department of Health reported these numbers on Sunday, February 7:

LDH says, “on 2/8/21 LDH is reporting two-day totals for cases and tests.”

There are 1,184 new coronavirus cases in the state, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

The Louisiana Department of Health also reported that there have been 9,142 deaths total in the state from the novel coronavirus.

There are now 357,995 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state of Louisiana, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

There are 1,144 now COVID-19 patients in hospitals.

The Louisiana Department of Health is providing updated COVID-19 death numbers for parishes in the state:

Ascension – 141
East Baton Rouge – 698
Livingston – 165
Pointe Coupee – 66
Tangipahoa – 250

There have been a total of 5,535,459 total tests, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

As of February 1, 363,457 people are presumed to have recovered from COVID-19.
