BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – Louisiana Department of Health is encouraging people to sign up for a three-month competition that will help develop better eating habits and maintain a healthy life.

The “Own Your Health” challenge is for individuals or a team and starts on Jan. 24. Participants will track activity minutes and weight loss through the Own Your Own Health website over the course of 13 weeks. The challenge ends on April 25.

If a participant wants to do the challenge by themselves, they can still track their progress through the dashboard.

2022 Team Challenges:

  • Regular team challenges and Regular Weight Loss Team challenges require two to 10 people, and larger teams require a minimun of 11 people or more
  • Individual Participant Challenges for casual steppers, and an Elite Individual challenge for serious fitness enthusiasts
  • Individual Weight Loss Challenge
  • City vs City Challenge

Participants receive:

  • Challenge T-shirt
  • Personal online dashboards with the ability to sync to other smart devices
  • Weekly motivational messages
  • Chances to win prizes every Friday
