BATON ROUEG, La. (BRPROUD) – A local medical laboratory that is part of the Louisiana Department of Health’s Safer, Smarter Schools program says that COVID tests are still available to schools in East Baton Rouge and the surrounding area.
“We are getting calls from parents who are alarmed because they heard that there is a shortage of testing supplies or problems with testing in their student’s school. That is not the case for any schools in the following parishes East Baton Rouge, Ascension, Iberville, Pointe Coupee, West Baton Rouge, and East and West Feliciana because of this program.” said Rachael Slaughter, President of Orion Laboratories.
Schools must register with LDH to participate in the initiative before tests will be available.
In a press release, Orion Laboratories directed families to ask their school’s principle if the school was registered.
