LDH reports 123 new deaths due to COVID-19 and over 4,000 new cases, over the weekend

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – There has been an increase of 123 deaths in the state since Friday, Jan. 15.

There are 4,122 new coronavirus cases in the state, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

The Louisiana Department of Health also reported that there have been 8,203 deaths total in the state from the novel coronavirus.

There are now 326, 101 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state of Louisiana, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

There are now 1,930 COVID-19 patients in hospitals.

The Louisiana Department of Health is providing updated COVID-19 death numbers for parishes in the state:

Ascension – 126
East Baton Rouge – 635
Livingston – 140
Pointe Coupee – 62
Tangipahoa – 208
West Baton Rouge – 50
West Feliciana – 26

There have been a total of 4,892,815 total tests, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

As of Jan. 11., 298,614 people are presumed to have recovered from COVID-19.
