LDH: 139 deaths marks "the highest number of deaths in a single day since the beginning of the pandemic"

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD)- Louisiana Department of Health reports 139 new deaths in the past 24 hours, making this the largest single-day count since the beginning of the pandemic.

Louisiana COVID-19 Breakdown:

  • 3,814 new COVID cases, bringing the overall total for the state to 664,618
  • 139 new deaths bringing the overall total for the state to 12,116
  • 2,856 COVID patients are currently in the hospital
  • 480 COVID patients are currently on ventilators
