LDH reports 3,856 COVID-19 cases overnight, drop in hospitalization

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – There has been an increase of 59 deaths in the state since Wednesday, Jan. 20.

There are 3,856 new coronavirus cases in the state, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

The Louisiana Department of Health also reported that there have been 8,442 deaths total in the state from the novel coronavirus.

There are now 332,973 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state of Louisiana, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

There are now 1,800 COVID-19 patients in hospitals.

The Louisiana Department of Health is providing updated COVID-19 death numbers for parishes in the state:

Ascension – 134
East Baton Rouge – 651
Livingston – 149
Pointe Coupee – 63
Tangipahoa – 218
West Baton Rouge – 50
West Feliciana – 28

There have been a total of 5,018,910 total tests, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

As of Jan. 18., 320,025 people are presumed to have recovered from COVID-19.
