LDH reports more than 6600 new cases overnight, hospitalizations continues to rise

The illness caused by this virus has been named coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD)- Louisiana Department of Health reports 6,606 new COVID-19 cases overnight for Louisiana. In addition to the new cases, 87 new deaths are reported.

Louisiana COVID-19 Breakdown:

  • 6,606 new cases for Louisiana, bringing the overall total to 638,443
  • 87 new deaths bringing the overall total to 11,793
  • 3,022 COVID patients are in the hospital
  • 448 COVID patients are on ventilators
