LDH: State sees sharp decrease of COVID-19 patients in hospitals

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – There has been an increase of 38 deaths in the state since Wednesday, Feb. 3.

There are 2,758 new coronavirus cases in the state, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

Today, “LDH is reporting a backlog from newly-reporting urgent care centers of 844 out of 2,758 cases as far back as 10/22/20.”

Over the last 24 hours, the Louisiana Department of Health is reporting a decrease of 91 COVID-19 patients in hospitals.

The Louisiana Department of Health also reported that there have been 9,044 deaths total in the state from the novel coronavirus.

There are now 354,788 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state of Louisiana, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

There are now 1,295 COVID-19 patients in hospitals.

The Louisiana Department of Health is providing updated COVID-19 death numbers for parishes in the state:

Ascension – 141
East Baton Rouge – 692
Livingston – 165
Pointe Coupee – 65
Tangipahoa – 241

There have been a total of 5,451,598 total tests, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

As of February 1, 363,457 people are presumed to have recovered from COVID-19.
