BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – It’s Christmas time in the capital area! Here is a list of holiday events happening in Baton Rouge and the surrounding areas.
A Very Merry Museum
Where: Louisiana Art & Science Museum
What: The festive event will have engaging activities such as hands-on ornament-making, snowy science experiments, a scavenger hunt, and more.
When: Saturday, Dec. 17 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Winter Wonderland Family Event
Where: 13443 Lovett Road
When: Saturday, Dec. 17 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
What: Familes can meet Ssanta, play in artificial snow, and shop for Christmas gifts. Get your tickets here.
Gingerbread Brunch
Where: The Velvet Cactus (7655 Old Hammond Highway in Baton Rouge)
When: Saturday, Dec. 17 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
What: This family events is $30 per child and includes an assembled Gingerbread house, decorations, a breakfast entree, hot chocolate and more. Adult tickets are $22 each and includes breakfast and a drink of choice.

Where: Capitol Elementary (4747 Gus Young Avenue)
When: Wednesday, Dec. 21 at 8 a.m.

Where: Lillie’s Resturant Parking Lot (5735 Silverleaf Avenue)
When: Wednesday, Dec. 21 at noon

Councilwoman Coleman’s Christmas Giveaway
Where: Leo S. Butler Center (950 East Washington Street)
When: Thursday, Dec. 22 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Pictures with the Grinch
Where: The Velvet Cactus in Baton Rouge
When: Thursday, Dec. 22 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
What: Free pictures with the Grinch, but stay for a bite to eat!
