As the news broke of an arrest in the murder of a Baton Rouge influencer, the city held their breath waiting to find out who was responsible for such a heinous crime.
Angela Machen, the daughter of the slain activist says that her mother “got everything she could out of the 75 years that she lived.”
While she could be at home mourning the death of her beloved mother, she knows that that’s not what she would want.
When asked how she’s felt over the last few days, her response was simply “numb”. Though she’s left with memories she says she’s not angry and asks that those who are give themselves to the betterment of their communities.
Machen says the last conversation that she had withe her mother was about storm prep.
“This great job that was done, was done in the midst of a hurricane, in the midst of a storm. It was a storm for us in the midst of a storm.”
