LIVINGSTON, La. (BRPROUD) — Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard announced a statewide scholarship opportunity for graduating Louisiana high school students.

The Louisiana Sheriff’s Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to students pursuing higher education. Sheriff Ard said scholarships are $500 each and will be awarded to students from each parish where the sheriff is an affiliate of the Honorary Membership Program.

Scholarship funds can be used on tuition and related expenses.

Guidelines to apply for the scholarship:

  • Permanent resident of Louisiana
  • Scholarships to be used in higher education within Louisiana
  • Students enrolled as full-time undergraduates

The deadline to submit applications is April 1st. Winners will be announced in May.

Livingston Parish students can pick up an application from their high school counselors.
