Family donating gifts and toys to charity for Christmas holiday

LIVINGSTON, La (BRPROUD) – Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office will be collecting donations for their annual Christmas Crusade on Saturday, Nov. 27.

LPSO deputies will be out collecting donations at Walmart and Bass Pro Shop locations in Denham Springs, Walker and Watson from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.

For families that are in need for Christmas gifts, applications will open on Monday, Nov. 29 and close on Friday, Dec. 3. The second wave of applications will open on Monday, Dec. 6 and close Friday, Dec. 10. Applications can be picked up from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 29225 Woodside Drive, Walker, La.

When applicants come in to pick up the applications, proof of residency, a birth certificate for each child and proof of income for everyone in the residence is required. Proof of food stamps will be accepted but Food Stamp cards will not be accepted as proof.

For anyone who wants to donate toys, drop-off times and dates are listed below.

  • Sunday, Nov. 28 – 12:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m
  • Thursday, Dec. 2 – 12:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • Friday, Dec. 3 and Saturday, Dec. 4 – 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, Dec. 5 – 12:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, Dec. 9 – 12:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • Friday, Dec. 10 and Saturday, Dec. 11 – 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, Dec. 12 – 12:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The last day for toy donations is Monday, Dec. 13. Toys can be mailed to Sheriff Jason Ard’s Christmas Crusade at P.O. Box 1515 Livingston, La 70754.

The toy delivery date will be on Friday, Dec. 14, and will begin at 8 a.m. Applicants must be home.
