LIVINGSTON PARISH, La. (BRPROUD) – A driver was cited by the Denham Springs Police Department after a helicopter they were transporting got stuck under an overpass on Friday, Sept. 22.
Around 8 a.m., officials responded to the S. Range Overpass after a helicopter engine struck the overpass. Police closed a lane for cleanup, and multiple agencies including the Denham Springs Fire Department, Louisiana State Police and Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene.
The helicopter was removed hours later. Police said the driver, 56-year-old Miguel D. Rodriguez from Miami, Florida, was cited with careless operation.
