LIVINGSTON PARISH, La. (BRPROUD) — The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office seized 90 pounds of marijuana and several other items after a routine traffic stop in Satsuma, La. in October.

LPSO arrested Jordan Barnes, 25, of Franklinton, after agents conducted a search warrant at his residence.

“During that traffic stop, agents were able to identify the suspect as 25-year-old Jordan Barnes of Franklinton, Louisiana,” said Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard. “Based on evidence at the scene, Narcotics Agents were then able to secure a search warrant for Barnes’ residence in Satsuma.”

According to a Facebook post from LPSO, agents seized over 90 lbs. of marijuana, a 5.56 caliber AR-style pistol, a Glock 19 9mm, a 2021 Dodge Charger Hell Cat (pending seizure), and a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT (pending seizure).

“This was a team effort by LPSO Narcotics, Burglary, Criminal Patrol & Detectives,” said Ard. “What we’ve all seen here lately is the mixing of these drugs with fentanyl & other chemicals – some in lethal amounts – leading to overdoses & deaths. We’ll keep fighting to keep these drugs off of our streets.”
