It’s time for students to put their knowledge to the test. Over 150 9th grade World Geography Students will compete in the full-day GeoJourney Expo at Baton Rouge Magnet High School on Wednesday. The competition marks the culmination of a year-long research project and the 20th anniversary of this educational event.
Students developed nearly 150 interactive country displays, representing every region of the world. The student researchers will showcase their country while also competing in several categories.
Embarking on their ‘journey‘ back in September 2018, the students created various project components revolving around both physical and cultural geography. This comprehensive project-based experience allows students to apply geographic topic, concepts, and skills while expanding their knowledge of the research and writing process, as well as sharpen their technology, graphic design, and presentation skills.
