BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – It’s time to throw out that deer meat you’re never going to use!

Feliciana Food Market and other local organizations are hosting Clean Out Your Freezer Day in Baton Rouge on Sept. 25. The public is invited to throw out any protein they don’t want from their freezers. All collected items will be donated to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank or distributed to other local food pantries.

Clean Out Your Freezer Day will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Meat can be donated at multiple drive-thrus and drop-off locations. Those locations are listed below.

  • Bowie Outfitters (8630 Perkins Road)
  • Baton Rouge Fire Department (835 Sharp Road)
  • Central Fire Department (11646 Sullivan Road)
  • St. George Fire Department (7027 Antioch Road)
  • St. George Fire Department (9214 Jefferson Highway)
  • St. George Fire Department (16415 George O’Neal Lane)
  • Zachary Fire Department ( 4525 Main Street)

Cabela’s in Gonzales, Bass Pro Shops in Denham Springs, Feliciana Seafood in St. Francisville, and Red Boot Deli in Clinton will also have designated drop-off areas.
