Rebuilding Together is a nationwide organization aimed at rebuilding homes and revitalizing communities, and the Baton Rouge chapter is hoping to do that for the North Baton Rouge area.

Chris Andrews, the director for Rebuilding Together Baton Rouge affiliate will meet with the Press Club of Baton Rouge to discuss efforts to make improvements for elderly and impoverished homeowners to stay in their homes longer.

The organization helps elderly, disabled and veteran low-income homeowners keep their homes safe, secure and more energy sufficient.

The Baton Rouge chapter was founded in 2003 and to date, has completed hundreds of projects with a cumulative market value of over $4 million all completely free to homeowners.

That meeting will take place at the Belle of Baton Rouge Casino and Hotel at 11:30 a.m. and it is open to the public.
