BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) –– One capital area nonprofit is looking to help more teens get the skills they need to join the workforce.
AMI Kids’ YouthBuild program offers career technical training, GED readiness, career readiness, and job placement opportunities. They say they meet young people where they are and want to help them be successful.
“We have young people who have finished our program successfully. Many of them are working in the plant industry, and we do have some that are working in the medical field,” said Executive Director Karryl Durr.
She adds the former students will often revisit the school to encourage the current students.
