Local toy company to give free arts and craft bags to keep kids busy

BATON ROUGE, La. (LOCAL 33/FOX 44) Local toy company, Tatro: Hand-Built Magnetic Toys, has partnered with Baton Rouge businesses to help families stay busy and creative at home.

Tatro will host curbside pickup in Mid-City for free grab-and-go arts and crafts bags Saturday, March 28 from 2-5pm.

Curbside pickup will be located at Mestizo Louisiana Méxican Cuisine, 2323 S Acadian Thruway.

Participating businesses include BREC Arts, Louisiana Art & Science Museum, Companion Animal Alliance, and local makers that have donated arts and crafts supplies including coloring sheets to create fun bags you can take home. Other unannounced businesses may participate.

The free grab-and-go bags will vary based on supplies but are expected to include craft pom-poms, foam, paper, cardboard, paints, chalk, pipe cleaners and beads.

The goal of the free grab-and-go bags is to create a one-stop-shop that supports families in the community in keeping kids engaged and creative during this period of isolation.

For the well-being of the community, Tatro will adhere to all state policies regarding businesses providing curbside pickup.

Tatro: Hand-Built Magnetic Toys is a local company in Baton Rouge, Louisiana that produces creative and imaginative toys for kids ages 3-12.
