Local officials are “Pedaling for Peace” one foot at a time. If you are looking for something positive to do on a Friday night., join Councilman LaMont Cole, MLK Community Center, Mayor Sharon Weston Broome, Chief Murphy Paul, BRPD, Bike Baton Rouge, Front Yard Bikes, Geaux Cruising and a host of community partners for Pedaling For Peace June 14, 2019 from 6:00pm-8:00pm.

“Life is precious! No matter how many years you spend on this earth our time is short. We should seek to live our lives in peace. We’ve had violence in our communities and any violence is too much violence,” says Councilman LaMont Cole.

Riders will meet in the parking lot of Shoppers Value located at 5355 Government Street and ride to Howell Park 5509 Winbourne Ave. Councilman Cole is encouraging constituents of District 7 and members of the Baton Rouge community to come out and ride bikes.

Cole went on to say, “We should always be seeking ways to end violence in Baton Rouge and bring about peace to our community. We will do our best to bring awareness to the issues while providing a fun and safe event for families.”

There will be a prayer vigil remembering those who have loss their lives to violence in our community led by Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome.
