Long-time LSU chancellor in New Orleans steps down

BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – The Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans will be on the lookout for a new chancellor following Dr. Larry Hollier stepping down on Thursday.

Hollier is stepping down effective immediately.

Hollier has been chancellor since 2005 after serving as president of  Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. He will return as a faculty member and will practice vascular surgery.

An interim chancellor will be announced while a national search takes place to find a permanent fill for the LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans.
