BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) ––– Get ready to say “yes and” for the five-day Baton Rouge Improv Festival (BRIF) starting April 20 for the first time in person.

Comedy professionals and amateurs have the chance to compete in stand-up competitions, improv shows, and more. Performances and workshops are for ages and promote education, inclusion, and collaboration. The festival also offers a variety of workshops that help spread joy, laughter, and learning in the Baton Rouge community and surrounding areas.

The show will feature several nationally known improvisers and improv experts, including the Geico Caveman, improviser and actor John Lehr, and the renowned Chicago improv group The Boys, with Rachel Masson and Susan Messing.

A team of improvisers led by LSU Professor Brett Duggan will host the festival at LSU’s College of Music & Dramatic Arts Theater and Boomerang Comedy Theater.

Last year the event had to be held virtually because of the pandemic, but now they are hosting the festival in person for the first time. But if you can’t make it out, streaming is still an option.
