BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD)- The Louisiana Department of Corrections announced two new wardens for Louisiana prisons.

Edward “Dusty” Bickham is the new warden of Rayburn Correctional Center in Angie, Louisiana.

Marcus Myers was announced as the new warden for Raymond Laborde Correctional Center in Cottonport, Louisiana.

“Dusty and Marcus are proven leaders,” Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections, Secretary Jimmy Le Blanc said. “I am confident they will take these two prisons to the next level and continue the State’s criminal justice reforms to ready our inmates for a successful transition back to the community.”

Bickham has served for the department of corrections for around 18 years.

“I am excited about this opportunity, and dedicated to building a relationship with my staff to successfully carry out the mission and goals of this Department, which include public safety and rehabilitation,” Bickham said.

Myers began his career in the department back in 1991, making 29 years.

“I look forward to not only being a correctional center leader, but a community leader as well. I will have an open door policy for my staff, and look forward to not only leading, but also learning about the institution,” Myers said.
