Louisiana Department of Health confirms three additional Hurricane Ida-related deaths

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – An additional storm-related death has been reported by the Louisiana Department of Health on Monday.

The St. Tammany Parish coroner confirmed the death of a 70-year-old man, according to LDH. His death was due to heat during an extended power outage.

The Hurricane Ida death toll is now at 29.

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Louisiana Department of Health has confirmed two more storm-related deaths.

Both deaths were in East Baton Rouge Parish, according to LDH. A 69-year-old male and an 85-year-old female died due to excessive heat during an extended power outage.

The Hurricane Ida death toll is now 28.
