BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Girl Scouts Louisiana East began selling their cookies outside storefronts, in malls, and in other locations Friday, March 3. From the ever-popular Thin Mints® to Caramel deLites®, your favorite cookie is now available on a walk-up basis in your neighborhood.

The season of booth sales is a direct reflection of why Girl Scouts is the largest girl-led entrepreneurship program in the world. Each cookie purchase helps empower young girls and provides them with invaluable skills that they can use throughout their lives. All proceeds stay local to help fund life-changing, girl-led programs, experiences, and learning all year long.

Cookie booths are just one sales option used by Girl Scouts. Since mid-January, Louisiana East Girls Scouts have been busy selling via other means including phoning or texting friends and family, door-to-door, cookie stands, community connections, and via the “Digital Cookie,” where Girl Scouts learn about digital marketing.

Through the Girl Scout Cookie Program, Girl Scouts learn goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics, according to their website.
