BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Anyone who attended a recent Ascension Parish wrestling tournament “should consider themselves exposed to COVID-19” and should get tested for the virus at once, Louisiana health officials recommended Saturday.
The Louisiana Department of Health issued its recommendation after confirming that more than 20 athletes, staff and attendees who attended the Louisiana Classic Wrestling Tournament on Jan. 15 and 16 — at the Lamar Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales.
LDH wants anyone who attended the event to monitor for the following COVID-19 symptoms, which may appear two to 14 days after exposure:
- Fever or chills
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle or body aches
- Headache
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
