Louisiana is among only 11 states that require inspections. But this may soon be a thing of the past in the bayou state.
On Monday the House Transporation Highways and Public Works Committee apporved a bill that would no longer require Louisiana drivers to purchase inspecpection stickers. This does not apply for drivers of commerical vehicles or school buses.
Representaive Larry Bagley wants to end the requirement of the inspections and add $10 to your registration fee. The money would pay for extra Louisiana state troopers on the roadways to enforce vehicle safety laws.
The proposals now moves to the House of Representatives.
