FRANKLINTON, La. (AP) — A southeast Louisiana state park has new camping, biking and horseback riding options for its visitors.

Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser, whose office oversees state parks, planned a grand opening event to unveil the new amenities at Bogue Chitto State Park in Franklinton. But he’s had to cancel it twice because of stormy weather.

The new amenities, however, are open.

The park now has 14 miles (22.5 kilometers) of mountain bike trails, created in partnership with the Northshore Off-Road Biking Association. Also, the park has new glamping sites, horseback riding trails and vendors, according to Nungesser’s office.
