BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The boil advisory for Angola was lifted Monday, according to Department of Corrections (DOC) officials.

A precautionary water boil advisory was issued on Thursday, Aug. 11 at the Louisiana State Penitentiary after leaks were found in the roofs of two of the prison’s water tanks. The DOC said repairs were made over the weekend.

The boil advisory was not only in place for the prison but for the surrounding neighborhood, where the prison employees live. Bottled water was provided for inmates and employees on duty.
