LSP arrested Baton Rouge man on child pornography charges

Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit, the Office of the Louisiana Attorney General’s Bureau of Investigation, and LSP Troop A arrested a Baton Rouge man after they learned that he was in possession of child pornography in East Baton Rouge Parish.
 
Investigators arrested 42-year-old James R. Fontenot, II for charges related to the possession and distribution of images of child pornography.
 
Authorities said the arrest came after investigators served a search warrant at Fontenot’s residence in Baton Rouge, after an investigation yielded information relating to the possession and distribution of images indicative of child pornography.
 
Authorities said investigators found a large amount of images indicative of child pornography on several laptop computers and hard drives belonging to Fontenot.
 
LSP BOI charged Fontenot with 100 counts of possession of pornography involving juveniles under the age of 13.
 
The Attorney General’s BOI charged Fontenot with one count of distributing pornography involving juveniles under the age of 13.
 
Authorities placed Fontenot under arrest and booked him into the East Baton Rouge Parish jail.
