BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Just before the first day of school, some LSU sophomores are not worried about books or class but something else.

“Honestly, it makes me uncomfortable,” said Alexis Dao.

“Usually you wouldn’t expect something like that to happen around here,” said Lydia Valle, an avid runner.

They are worried they may see something they don’t want to. Baton Rouge police said for several months they’ve received multiple reports about two men exposing themselves and grabbing women at LSU lakes.

“Two different guys driving two different vehicles,” said L’Jean McKneely, spokesperson for Baton Rouge Police Department. “We just hope we can get some information that would assist with our investigation.”

Police said the only description they have right now is they are looking for two Black men.

One woman said back in April her stepsister was on a run when the unimaginable happened.

“She was running around and she noticed him following in his car. And when she got a little closer she noticed he was doing something very peculiar,” she said.

She said the man was touching himself while trailing behind her. She and her sister now carry pepper spray because of this.

“Definitely makes me really nervous to come out here,” she said. “I always make sure I come here before 7 to make sure I get my run in before the sun sets.”

Police are asking people to remain on high alert and asking anyone with information to come forward.

“The officer has been very responsible who works in that area. He’s putting information out to members in that community through social media in order to assist him and Baton Rouge police to help our investigation,” said McKneely.

Anyone with information that can help law enforcement is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 225-344-7867.
