LSU Swimming and Diving have medal-filled summer

The 2019 summer was a season of awards for the LSU Swimming and Diving teams.

Juan Celaya-Hernandez scored 429.81 along with his partner Yahel Castillo and earned gold at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru for the One-Meter Springboard.

Matt Klotz finished seventh in the 100-Meter Back, but he set a new Deaf World Record of 54.79, breaking his previous mark of 56.06.

Lizzie Cui also performed well internationally. She finished with a 244.20 score for number eight in the world for the One-Meter Springboard during the World Championships. Cui also finished ninth in Mixed Synchro, for her her second top-10 finish at the Championships.

LSU’s 2019 season begins on Sept. 21st during their annual Purple vs. Gold Intersquad.
