LSU Foundation affiliate LSU Real Estate and Facilities Foundation has received six responses from local and national firms in response to its request for a project adviser for the University Lakes Project, according to LSU Media Relations Director Ernie Ballard.
The project aims to help implement the master plan for the lakes, which recommends dredging and creating a sediment bypass system to improve water quality and sustain the lakes for decades, among other renovations, according to the Baton Rouge Area Foundation.
The LSU REFF expects the University Lakes Project Management Committee to chose a project adviser by Jan. 17, Ballard wrote.
The adviser will be tasked with providing financial analysis, helping select a design firm, a contractor and other vendors and assisting with complying with project funding restrictions.
The committee aims to hire a designer in 2020 and a contractor by 2021 for dredging and construction.
