BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Five days ago, Mike VII took a nice walk in his enclosure.

Two days after this video, LSU’s live tiger mascot received his second dose of the COVID-19 vaccination.

The first dose was given on July 16.

The COVID-19 vaccine was given to LSU by American drug company, Zoetis.

According to the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine, “Mike VII has not shown any adverse effects from the vaccine.”

If you have visited Mike VII’s enclosure lately, you may have noticed barricades that are there to keep the public at least ten feet away. This is to prevent any transmission of SARS-CoV-2.

Those barricades are now scheduled to be removed sometime in the next eight days.

Mike VII will continue to be monitored by his caretakers.
