Man accused of disposing dead body in abandoned vehicle

BATON ROUGE, La. (LOCAL 33)(FOX 44) - A Baton Rouge man is accused of disposing of a dead woman's body in an abandoned vehicle earlier this week. 

According to arrest reports, 54-year-old Robert Lowe invited a woman to his house where she allegedly injected a drug into her body. Lowe told officers he woke up at 3 a.m. to find the woman unresponsive. He said he tried to perform chest compressions, but was unsuccessful.

Homicide Detectives said Lowe put the woman's body on the rear passenger floor of  his car before he later put her body in an abandoned vehicle near Ford and Simplex Streets.

According to the police report, Homicide Detectives and the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner did not find any signs of physical trauma on the woman's body. An autopsy will be performed at a later date.

Lowe was charged with obstruction of justice, unlawful disposal of human remains and failure to notify of death under suspicious circumstances. He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
