BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office (EBRSO) arrested a man Saturday after he tried to sneak into a Southern University football game.

The sheriff’s office says a deputy was assigned to the north end zone ticket area when he was approached by 21-year-old Jordan Beal. Beal asked if he could enter the stadium without a ticket and watch the game from the fenced area but allegedly became angry when the deputy denied him entry.

EBRSO says that Beal wasn’t wearing a shirt and appeared to be intoxicated or impaired due to drugs. Beal walked away but later returned and tried to go around the deputy to sneak into the game but was told to stop. The sheriff’s office says Beal clenched his fists and threatened to beat up the deputy.

Beal refused to leave when the deputy asked him to. Beal allegedly hit the deputy’s arm when the deputy blocked his strike.

The deputy was able to get Beal onto the ground and handcuffed him. He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and charged with resisting a police officer with force or violence, battery of a police officer and simple assault.
