ASCENSION PARISH, La. (BRPROUD) — Troopers arrested a 26-year-old man accused of speeding at a rate of over 130 miles per hour over the weekend.

The suspect, identified by Louisiana State Police as Deyvin Martinez, was arrested on charges of aggravated obstruction of a highway of commerce, reckless operation, no driver’s license, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and DWI.

Martinez was driving westbound on I-10 in Ascension Parish before he was stopped by troopers at Bluebonnet Boulevard in Baton Rouge before 6 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20, according to State Police. He was suspected of impairment and was given a sobriety test and submitted an alcohol analysis to LSP.

A spokesperson for LSP said Martinez tested over the legal limit.
