LABADIEVILLE, La (BRPROUD) – Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a man on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges after a series of investigations.
Sheriff Leland Falcon says deputies were called to the Labadieville area after a work truck was stolen from a truck stop. As part of the investigation, deputies interviewed company representatives of the stolen trailer which led to a third-party witness interview. The witness identified 28-year-old Skyler Craig Gibson as the suspect. Gibson was located, interviewed and led deputies to the trailer in Gibson, La.
Leland says that the sheriff’s office learned Gibson was connected to ‘numerous’ criminal cases during the investigation’s interviews. Gibson stole work-related items such as trailers, tools, a chain saw and sheet metal from the Bayou L’ Ourse area from late November through early January. The stolen trailers were recovered by detectives near Terrebonne Parish.
Gibson was arrested on Friday, Jan. 7, and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on two counts of felony theft, four counts of criminal trespassing and four counts of misdemeanor theft. Gibson is incarcerated and has a pending bond hearing.
