Man breaks into ex-girlfriend’s home, fires gunshots

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A 23-year-old man was arrested by Baton Rouge police after breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s house and firing gunshots.

According to an affidavit, the suspect, Kendall Dallas Johnson, broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home at 5 a.m. on June 29. Police reports say the victim told police that she was in a relationship with Johnson for four years. Authorities said after Johnson yelled at the victim to come outside, he pushed in a window air conditioning unit and entered the home with a handgun.

The police report says Johnson fired nine to ten gunshots pointed at the victim while other residents, including the victim’s mother and two juveniles, were in the home, according to BRPD.

Johnson was arrested and faces charges including seven counts of attempted first-degree murder, one count of illegal use of a weapon, one count of aggravated criminal damage to property and one count of home invasion.
