BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Police say the motive and suspect in a shooting that killed a 24-year-old man at a Baton Rouge hotel are currently unknown.

The Baton Rouge Police Department was called to a reported shooting a little before 2:55 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10. Officers arrived at the FairBridge Inn Express Baton Rouge on Boardwalk Drive and found one shooting victim who later died from his injuries.

The shooting victim was identified as 24-year-old Hentrell Johnson and the cause of death is homicide, according to the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office.

The investigation remains ongoing and more information will be shared as it becomes available.
