BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Police are searching for a man who was reported missing after he was last seen in downtown Baton Rouge after midnight Wednesday.

The Baton Rouge Police Department said Jody Bert, 44, is six feet tall, weighs 220 pounds, has short hair, tattoos on his left arm and was last seen wearing blue jeans, a dark-colored hoodie and red/white Adidas shoes.

According to police, he was traveling with his family from Oklahoma on their way home to Florida when he started to feel sick. The family then decided to stay in Baton Rouge for the night, BRPD said.

“He dropped his family off at a local downtown hotel,” said BRPD spokesperson Sgt. L’Jean McKneely Jr. “He went to go park his car and after some time he didn’t return to the hotel, so the family became concerned. They found his car and they found all of his personal belongings. His cell phone, his wallet, his clothing was still there.”
