Assumption Police have arrested a man that they believe was the suspect of a high speed chase earlier this month near Napoleonville.

25-year old Jamon Deondre Herbert was wanted on multiple fugitive warrants.

On Tuesday, deputies went to Herbert’s home in an attempt to arrest him.

Deputies had probable cause to believe that Herbert was inside the residence, but the person answering the door advised that the suspect was not there. That person denied deputies request to search the home. Deputies retreated, kept surveillance on the home and secured a search warrant.

Deputies entered the home and located the suspect in a cabinet.

Jamon Deondre Herbert was booked on multiple warrants

That warrant contained charges of:

  • Aggravated Flight from an Officer
  • Reckless Operation
  • Driving Under Suspension
  • Criminal Sanctions for Operating a Vehicle Not Covered by Security
  • Speeding 31+ Miles Over the Posted Limit
  • No Seat Belt
  • Careless Operation
  • Improper Passing

Herbert was also booked on failure to appear warrants in Assumption Parish as well as fugitive warrants from a fellow jurisdiction.
