Mayor Broome introduces Behavioral Health HOT Team, outreach program begins September

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome’s administration introduces the Behavioral Health HOT Team at Metro Council on Wednesday night.

The team of mental health specialists and law enforcement will lead an outreach program focused on contacting individuals who are panhandling or homeless.

Mayor Broome said the program will connect these individuals with helpful resources to work toward housing and improve wellness. It is slated to begin in September.
