Mayor Broome to give update on community testing site

BATON ROUGE, La. (LOCAL 33/FOX 44) Mayor-President Sharon Weston-Broome will provide an update about the MOHSEP Community Testing Site and other efforts to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic in East Baton Rouge Parish.

She will be joined with officials from Baton Rouge Clinic, Baton Rouge General, Ochsner-Baton Rouge, Our Lady of The Lake, and Woman’s Hospital.

Since Baton Rouge General Mid-City started their testing site on March 16th, there have been 904 tests administered.

On Tuesday, March 24th, 119 tests were given to patients.

The number of cases have grown in East Baton Rouge Parish due to the community testing sites and those numbers are likely to go up more according to officials.

The testing site will be open Wednesday, March 25th from one to three p-m for anyone whose doctor faxed over their order on March 24th by 6 p.m.

If you’re still looking to get tested, you have to have your doctor provide your order to the hospital otherwise you won’t able to get tested.
