BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – Leslie Ricard Chambers is the new Assistant Chief Administrative Officer, Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome’s office announced on Friday.

“Attorney Chambers has had an impressive career as a public servant and leader,” Broome says. “She will be a valuable asset to my administration in our mission to bring peace, prosperity and progress to the citizens of Baton Rouge and East Baton Rouge Parish.”

Chambers served on the Assistant Executive Counsel for Governor John Bel Edwards and as an Assistant District Attorney for District Attorney Hillar Moore for almost a decade after receiving her Juris Doctorate from Southern University Law Center in 2008, according to an official press release.

“It is an honor to be selected by Mayor Broome for this important role,” Chambers said. “I look forward to the opportunity to serve our community.”

 The mayor says that Chambers will supervise City-Parish functions including the Division of Health and Human Services.
