BATON ROUGE, La. (NBC Local 33) (FOX 44) — East Baton Rouge Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome canvassed an area of the parish that is targeted to become a part of the new City of St. George, should voters vote in favor of the proposal on Oct. 12.
Weston Broome walked through the Wimbledon Estates neighborhood Thursday morning followed by a trail of reporters. The community sits adjacent to Perkins Rowe and features homes valued from about $200,000 to $300,000, according to the city-parish property assessor’s website.
While the majority of homeowners did not answer a knock at the door from the Mayor, those whom she did converse with shared a variety of sentiments on the proposed city.
