McKinley High senior gets a special surprise from local organization

One senior got a special surprise from a local organization in honor of a member who recently passed away from COVID-19.

Baton Rouge Proud: We Are One is a group formed by Constable Terrica Williams in 2017.

Amos Thomas passed away due to COVID-19, so they organization decided to present a 2020 graduate from McKinley High with a gift in honor of Amos who was a graduate of McKinley High.

Williams says a caravan was arranged to surprise the student, which was they were confused about at first but was truly grateful once they realized what was going on.

The group started after Hurricane Harvey to assist those in Houston. The focus of the group is to provide cleaning supplies, personal hygiene and hugs to families in need.
