2018’s Best Millennial Restaurant competition finalists, emcees and entertainment have been announced for this year’s event set for July 27 at the Ace Hotel hosted by Millennial Awards organizers Spears Group and GNO, Inc.
Returning for the sixth year the Best Millennial Restaurant competition presented by Yelp beginning at 6 p.m., local finalists include:
- Josephine Estelle
- Ruby Slipper Cafe
- Hippie Kitchen
- Manning’s Red Fish Grill
- The Big Cheezy
- Poke Loa (returning champion)
Each will have the opportunity to showcase their finest dishes and compete for the 2018 “Best Millennial Restaurant – People’s Choice Award.”
The awards ceremony beginning at 7 p.m. will be hosted by two previous Millennial Award winners: Footprints to Fitness founder April Dupré and River Parishes Tourist Commission Executive Director Buddy Boe. Since taking home last year’s title in healthcare, April has joined the morning news team at WWL-TV and further established herself as a health and wellness industry expert having recently teamed up with Essence to lead her very own fitness class at this year’s festival.
Buddy, who received the Changemaker award in 2014, served as the Senior Advisor and Communications Director to Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser before assuming his most recent role as head of the River Parishes Tourist Commission.
Following the conclusion of the awards ceremony, guests will be treated to afterparty entertainment from New Orleans’ own DJ Toine Boy and headline performers Big Easy Brawlers.
