Mire indicted on murder charges by Ascension Parish grand jury

BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – Ascension Parish District Attorney Ricky Babin confirms that Matthew Mire has been indicted by an Ascension Parish grand jury.

Babin confirmed that Mire was charged on two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder, one count each of home invasion, armed robbery, aggravated flight from an officer, possession of stolen goods and illegal discharge of a weapon.

Mire made his first court appearance on Oct. 12 and was denied bond. In East Baton Rouge Parish, he faces one count of illegal possession of stolen firearms, one count of obstruction of justice and one count of resisting an officer.

Funeral arrangements for Master Trooper Adam Gaubert, the trooper killed during the multi-parish crime spree, will take place this weekend.
