Month-long pumpkin patch opens in Prairieville Monday

BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – Get your carving knives ready! A pumpkin patch in Ascension Parish will open for the whole month of October.

NewSong Community Church is holding a pumpkin patch with pumpkins of various sizes and shapes. The patch also features different types of flowering plants such as cucumbers, squash and melons from the Navajo Indians in Northern New Mexico that will be available for purchasing.

United Methodist Children’s Home will be selling jellies. Families will have multiple options for photography at the patch along with a photo booth. NewSong Community Church says that there be no paid photography.

On the weekends, free hayrides will be available.

All proceeds go to NewSong Church missions.

The patch is located at the corner of Old Perkins Rd. E and Bluff Rd. in Prairieville, La. The days and times are listed below:

  • Monday through Friday from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.
  • Saturday’s from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
  • Sunday’s from noon until 6 p.m.

NewSong Community Church will also host a free Fall Festival with live music, hayrides, games food painting and more on Saturday, Oct. 30 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
